For the safety of our citizens, the City of Fulshear adopted the International 2003 Building Code, the International 2003 Fire Code and a signage ordinance. A professional, well-trained inspector insures that building standards are met.

1. Registration:
   All building contractors, electricians, (Master, Journeyman and Apprentice) plumbers, and HVAC contractors performing work in the city are required to hold a City of Fulshear registration. City registrations must be renewed annually.
   
   Applicants desiring a city registration must appear in person and have proper identification, insurance verification and a copy of their state license, if applicable at time of registering with the city.
    
2. Building Permits:
   Building permits are required for new construction, additions, alterations, repairs, demolition and the moving of buildings. An application for a building permit is required and must be accompanied by required documents. All commercial projects are subject to review by the Planning Commission and City Council prior to the issuance of a permit.  Building Contractors working within the city limits of Fulshear must be registered with the city.

3. Electrical Permits
   All electrical work in the City of Fulshear requires an electrical permit. Permits are issued to city registered master electricians.

4. Concrete Permits
   All concrete [flat] work in the City of Fulshear requires a concrete permit. Permits are issued to city registered contractors.
    
5. Plumbing Permits
   All plumbing work in the City of Fulshear requires a plumbing permit. Permits are issued to city registered plumbers.

6. HVAC Permits
   All heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning work in the City of Fulshear requires a HVAC permit. Permits are issued to city registered HVAC Contractors.

7. Sign Permits
   All signage in the city limits of Fulshear and in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City require a permit.

   Only permanent monument styled signs and wall signs no larger than 10% of the building façade are permitted. Revolving, moving, portable, snipe and off-premise sign are prohibited.
   
   A sign application must be accompanied by required documents and each application is reviewed and approved by the City Council prior to issuance of permits.

8. Moving Permits
   A moving permit is required prior to moving any structure in or out of the City of Fulshear.
    
9. Demolition Permits
   A demolition permit is required prior to demolishing any structure. A proof of asbestos abatement is also required before a demolition permit is issued.
    
10. Right-of-way Permits
    Boring under roads is not allowed without a permit. An application and required documentation must be filed prior to the issuance of a permit. Applications may be secured at the City Hall.
     
11. Soliciting Permits
    Door to door soliciting is not allowed in the City of Fulshear without a permit. Applications may be secured at City Hall.
